Two dedicated heat pumps. One complete home heating system.
Why We’ve Taken a Different Approach
Most air source heat pump systems rely on a single heat pump to do two very different jobs.
It heats your home.
It produces your domestic hot water.
Throughout the day, that one system switches between those demands, responding to the changing needs of your home.
For many manufacturers, that’s simply how a heat pump system is designed.
At Adlår, we believe there’s a better way.
Heating your home and producing domestic hot water are two distinct tasks. Each has different demands, different priorities and a different role in everyday life.
So rather than asking one heat pump to do everything, we engineered two systems, each with one clear purpose.
The Aurora II Pro is dedicated to heating your home.
The FJORD Pro is dedicated to producing domestic hot water.
Together, they form the Adlår Dual Heat Pump System. It’s a different approach to home heating. One designed around purpose, not compromise.

These aren’t luxury moments. They’re everyday expectations.
At Adlår, we believe the best home heating systems are the ones you stop thinking about. They quietly support everyday life without asking for your attention.
Because great home heating isn’t measured by what’s in your utility room.
It’s measured by how your home feels every day.

Frequently asked questions
Understanding Heat Pump Cylinders
A heat pump cylinder is a hot water cylinder that's designed to work with heat pump technology. Unlike a traditional cylinder, which simply stores hot water heated by another appliance, a heat pump cylinder is designed to maximise efficiency and provide a reliable supply of domestic hot water.
The FJORD Pro takes this a step further by combining a premium stainless steel hot water cylinder with its own integrated air source heat pump, allowing it to both produce and store hot water within one purpose-built system.
A heat pump hot water cylinder uses energy from the surrounding air to heat the water stored inside the cylinder.
Rather than creating heat directly, it transfers naturally occurring heat from the air into the stored water using a refrigeration cycle. Because transferring heat requires less electricity than generating heat directly, this can provide a more efficient way to produce domestic hot water than a conventional direct electric cylinder.
In most cases, yes.
Most air source heat pump systems use a hot water cylinder to store domestic hot water, ensuring it's available whenever you need it. The right cylinder should be correctly sized for your household and designed to work efficiently with the rest of your heating system.
At Adlår, we've taken a different approach by designing dedicated systems for heating and hot water, allowing each to focus on the job it was engineered to do.
For many homeowners, yes.
Heat pump hot water cylinders can produce domestic hot water more efficiently than conventional direct electric cylinders while providing a dependable supply of stored hot water for everyday use.
The biggest advantage isn't simply efficiency—it's choosing a system that's been designed as a complete solution, with the hot water cylinder, heat pump and controls all working together.
The best hot water cylinder depends on the heating system it's being paired with, the size of your household and your daily hot water demand.
Rather than choosing a cylinder in isolation, it's important to consider the complete heating system. A well-designed solution should balance efficiency, performance and reliability while providing enough stored hot water for the way your household lives.
About the FJORD Pro
Unlike a conventional hot water cylinder, the FJORD Pro both produces and stores domestic hot water.
It combines a premium stainless steel cylinder with its own integrated air source heat pump, creating one purpose-built system that's been engineered exclusively to work alongside the Aurora II Pro as part of the Adlår Dual Heat Pump System.
No.
The FJORD Pro has been designed exclusively as part of the Adlår Dual Heat Pump System and isn't available as a standalone product.
This allows us to design, install and optimise the complete heating system as one engineered solution, ensuring the heating and hot water systems work together exactly as intended.
We believe heating your home and producing domestic hot water are two different jobs.
Rather than asking one heat pump to do everything, we've designed dedicated systems for each. The Aurora II Pro focuses on heating your home, while the FJORD Pro focuses on domestic hot water.
It's an approach that reflects our belief that better engineering begins by giving every part of the system one clear purpose.
Choosing the Right System
The right cylinder size depends on your household's hot water usage rather than simply the size of your home.
The number of people living in the property, the number of bathrooms and your daily routine all influence the amount of stored hot water you'll need.
During your Adlår Home Survey, we'll recommend the most suitable FJORD Pro model as part of your complete heating system design.
Yes, in many cases.
If you're upgrading to the Adlår Dual Heat Pump System, the FJORD Pro is designed to replace a conventional hot water cylinder as part of the overall installation.
Every home is different, so we'll assess your existing system during your home survey and recommend the most appropriate solution for your property.
Yes.
The FJORD Pro can make effective use of available solar-generated electricity to produce and store hot water, helping you make better use of the renewable energy your home generates.
We'll always consider your wider home energy system when designing your heating solution.
No.
The FJORD Pro has been engineered to operate quietly as part of your home. While, like any heat pump, it contains a fan and compressor, it's designed to work discreetly in the background so it doesn't become part of everyday life.
Yes.
The FJORD Pro includes an integrated immersion heater that provides additional heating support when required, such as during periods of unusually high hot water demand or as part of automatic hygiene cycles.
The lifespan of any hot water cylinder depends on its design, build quality, installation and ongoing maintenance.
The FJORD Pro is manufactured using a premium stainless steel cylinder and high-quality components, and is installed and commissioned as part of a complete Adlår system to support long-term reliability. Regular servicing helps ensure it continues to perform as intended throughout its lifetime.
Not at all.
The FJORD Pro has been designed to make everyday ownership straightforward. Intuitive controls, intelligent operating modes and Wi-Fi connectivity make it easy to manage your hot water, while much of the system's operation happens automatically in the background.
Still have a question?
Every home is different, and the best heating system depends on your property, your lifestyle and the way you use heating and hot water.
If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, our team will be happy to help.
