Lying at the heart of our system are 2 separate heat pumps. You get 2 heat pumps for the price of one. This is achieved thanks to our Fjord I hot water cylinder being it’s own standalone heat pump. This allows us to separate your domestic hot water and your heating with some big benefits.

1. OUTDOOR UNIT OFF IN SUMMER
Whilst heat pumps have gotten a lot quieter with modern developments, they still produce some noise and create airflow directly in front of them. If designed right, you shouldn’t hear them inside your home, but if you’re outside you will.
With Adlår’s dual heat pump system your outdoor unit can be turned off during the summer months (when you use your outdoor space). This means there is no disruption from the heat pump when you are likely to be in your garden.
2. PRIORITY HOT WATER & HEATING
In a conventional system you can either heat your hot water OR your heating, the 3-port valve switching the water between the two. In the Adlår system, these are separate and therefore you can have both at the same time.
As an example, you can imagine a cold day where having your heating on and constant is desired in order to have maximum comfort, however if you also decided to have a bath or run your hot water, it is likely the hot water demand would be triggered. As these system work in priority hot water it means.
3. SMALLER FOOTPRINT - Less parts
On a design front, we’ll let you be the judge of whether you think our outdoor unit looks better than others. Our other big advantage is that our indoor space requirements are greatly reduced.
We also have much less parts in our system. Specifically we have much less high-risk parts which are prone to breaking, such as 3-port valves and motors.
Our system design removes these creating a much smaller internal footprint and a much safer system.

Adlår installs our own heat pumps. We have developed a highly optimised installation process, meaning we can install our heat pumps much quicker than others.
Our standard install takes 1 day. If there are additional works it can be 2, but this is still far better than the standard 5 day install most companies take.
